Technical Updates
The MissionFish servers may be unavailable during our weekly maintenance outage that occurs every Thursday between 12:00 and 2:00 AM EST.

Due to the overwhelming response to Hurricane Katrina by members of the eBay community, some sellers have encountered occasional but persistent errors while registering and searching for a charity through MissionFish. We restarted our servers around noon EST on Saturday, and have been monitoring them subsequently. We will continue to keep a close eye on the site, and will do our best to take corrective steps quickly if errors arise.
If you encounter a problem, please contact Community Care directly to report a site problem.
Thank you for helping support the Katrina recovery effort, and for your patience during this very busy time!

We are currently experiencing some problems with our Nonprofit Registration form. Our technical team is aware of the issue and is working hard to fix it. We should have the form back up and running again later this afternoon. Thank you for your patience!

Recently, some users have experienced an error when trying to list an eBay for Charity item. After selecting a benefiting charity and donation percentage, the user is asked to register with MissionFish, even though they are already registered. This occurs because the eBay seller's notification status has not been correctly sent to MissionFish, and thus back to eBay. This is typically caused by firewall or browser settings that are preventing a secure eBay data transfer.
To solve this problem, start by checking your browser and firewall settings. Please be sure to enable or allow permissions for all scripts, java applets, and cookies from http://www.missionfish.org. This seems to resolve the issue for most users.
Thanks and please contact Community Care with any additional questions.

We've seen some instances of virus e-mails being sent from what appear to be MissionFish e-mail addresses: info@missionfish.com and support@missionfish.org. These e-mails have a title along the lines of "Your password has been successfully updated" and contain the following message:
| Dear user [eBay user ID],
You have successfully updated the password of your Missionfish account.
If you did not authorize this change or if you need assistance with your account, please contact Missionfish customer service at: info@missionfish.com
Thank you for using Missionfish!

Some of our organisations have reported receiving multiple e-mail notifications for the same item and have written in to us. We are happy to report that we have solved this issue, so you should not receive any further duplicate e-mails. Please let us know right away if you are still receiving them.
If you'd still like to manage the number of e-mails you receive in general, here are some additional tips:
- You can change your e-mail preferences in the "Edit My Profile" section of your MissionFish charity account. You can change the setting from "Notify me about new listings and listing changes" to either "Notify me about new listings" or "Never notify me."
- Add any eBay sellers whom you know and trust to your "No Notification" list. This way you won't receive e-mails when these users list items for your organisation.
We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you, and thank you for your patience while we resolved it.

A new version of MissionFish was released today, with lots of major changes to our features and functions. See a complete list of what's new and different. As with any release, there are a few known issues that have come up. Please check back here often for new announcements and updates on known issues.
Nonprofit item acceptance preferences
Because of the change to charity item review, "item acceptance preferences" have become "item e-mail preferences." Here is how we've translated the old settings into our new ones:
| Old setting |
New setting |
| Auto-accept, don't notify me |
Never notify me |
| Notify me, 1-day passive accept |
Notify me about new listings and listing changes |
| Notify me, 1-day passive decline |
Notify me about new listings and listing changes |
You can always change your setting from inside your Nonprofit My MissionFish account: >> Edit My Profile >> E-mail Preferences.
Learn more about our new settings.
Error message when logging into seller and charity accounts
Some users may encounter an error message when moving between the MissionFish seller account and MissionFish charity account in the same browser window. To avoid the error, please open a new browser window.
No MissionFish username or password for sellers
Please remember that with MissionFish 3.0 we have eliminated unique MissionFish username and password for seller. Sellers now sign into their MissionFish account through the eBay login system. eBay will not share seller passwords with MissionFish. Usernames and passwords for MissionFish charity accounts have not changed.

Some users this week have encountered an "internal application error" message while listing an item through our Sell Your Item process.
This issue is occurring because a new improvement on the eBay site has inadvertently created a communication problem between eBay and the MissionFish site.
eBay is aware of the issue and is working hard to put a fix in place. The problem should be resolved later this evening. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused you, and thank you for your patience while waiting for a solution.
Please contact Community Care with any comments or concerns.

Because most Mac Operating Systems do not support certain applications required to view MissionFish, such as Active X, our site may not display properly for those using a Mac. For example, you may be unable to activate the plug-in to run eBay Picture Services on our Seller site.
Fortunately, many Mac OS X users have told us that the latest version of the Firefox internet browser has allowed them to navigate our site without error. If you'd like to get the latest version of Firefox for Mac OS X (and higher), you can do so by clicking the link below (it's free):

Users who chose to opt out of refunds should be able to get a tax receipt immediately. Recently, however, when some users clicked on the "Get Tax Receipt" button in the My Donations report, they received an error. We have fixed this problem and should not be occurring any longer.
In addition, there was a slight problem at the beginning of this year with passive accept and reject not working correctly. This problem has been resoved as well.
Thank you, and please contact Community Care with any comments or suggestions!
