more help Common Error Messages

NullPointer

The "Server Error: NullPointerException thrown" message is generated when data has not been sent properly to our system from your browser or Internet connection. This can be caused by such things a "hiccup" in the data transfer between your system and ours, or this can be caused by your browser or firewall settings.

To solve this problem, start by checking your browser and firewall settings. Please be sure to enable or allow permissions for all scripts, java applets, and cookies from http://www.missionfish.org. This seems to resolve the issue for most users.

If that doesn't seem to work., restart your computer and then re-open your web browser (such as Internet Explorer), other users have reported that this works for them.

Trouble listing an eBay Giving Works item on eBay

Recently, some users have experienced an error when trying to list an eBay Giving Works item. After selecting a benefiting nonprofit and donation percentage, the user is asked to register with MissionFish, even though they are already registered. This occurs because the eBay seller's notification status has not been correctly sent to MissionFish, and thus back to eBay. This is typically caused by firewall or browser settings that are preventing a secure eBay data transfer.

As with the NullPointer issue, to solve this problem, start by checking your browser and firewall settings. Please be sure to enable or allow permissions for all scripts, java applets, and cookies from http://www.missionfish.org. This seems to resolve the issue for most users.

Integrity Constraint

Have you changed your eBay ID? If so, just write our Community Care team with your old eBay ID, your new eBay ID and your MissionFish seller account username. They'll be able to have your information updated in our database.

more help E-mails Impersonating MissionFish

Some users may have received e-mail messages that appear to have been sent from MissionFish, requesting sensitive information. These requests often include links to Web pages that ask you to sign in and submit information such as your password or credit card details. Sometimes, these e-mails even include viruses which can infect your computer. At MissionFish, we identify these as 'spoofed' or 'phishing' e-mails.

If we request information from you, we will always direct you back to the MissionFish site. With very few exceptions, you can submit the requested information through your "Edit My Profile" page. If you click on a link in any e-mail, verify that the Web address in your browser is the same as the address shown in the e-mail. The Web address of MissionFish sign-in pages begins with: http://www.missionfish.org/. Never type your MissionFish username and password into a Web page that doesn't start with "missionfish.org" before the first forward slash (/).

If you have received e-mail that you suspect was not sent by MissionFish, please contact our Community Care team.
