After the listing ends
- When a Community Seller’s eBay Giving Works listing ends, a donation is due only if the item successfully sells.
- Buyer pays the seller
At the end of every eBay listing, the buyer pays the seller for the item they won (plus shipping, as necessary). The seller will ship the item to the buyer once they’ve been paid. - Seller makes their donation
After an eBay Giving Works listing sells, the Community Seller owes a donation to MissionFish. This is separate from the transaction where the buyer pays the seller for the item. - MissionFish will automatically collect the donation from the Community Seller within 22-28 days after the listing ends on eBay. The Community Seller can also choose to make the donation to MissionFish before our automatic charge date.
- Seller gets a tax receipt
MissionFish issues Community Sellers a tax receipt for each donation they have made. These are provided in the seller’s Donation History page inside his or her My eBay account. - Donation refunds for sellers
If the seller’s transaction with the buyer falls through, the seller can get their donation refunded (if they’ve made it) or waived (if they haven’t). MissionFish administers donation refunds for Community Sellers. - If this happens, your nonprofit will not receive a donation from the listing.
