- Direct Sellers: Build your buyer base with email marketing
- If your organization is Direct Selling on eBay, consider email marketing to keep interested buyers engaged in your cause and your inventory. If you’re Direct Selling through an eBay Store, you can use the newsletter feature to stay in touch with your buyers. By subscribing to your newsletter, eBay users can receive updates on new inventory, promotions, and how funds from sales are being used by your organization.

Create and manage mailing lists
- Get started by creating mailing lists. eBay allows a store to have up to 5 different mailing lists, so take into consideration how you want to segment and target interested buyers. After you’ve decided on your buyer segments, create your lists:
- 1. Go to My eBay.
- 2. Move your cursor over the Account tab until the "Marketing Tools" pull-down menu appears.
- 3. Click the “Email Marketing” link.
- 4. Click the Create Mailing List button
- Buyers visiting your store will be able to subscribe to the different mailing lists and start to receive communication from your organization.
- Tip: Attract more subscribers by adding a “Newsletter Signup” promotion box
to your store. -
Designing email newsletters
- eBay provides templates to make newsletter creation easy. They will even add standard text and feature items from your store based on the template you select. However, if you have an idea of how you want your newsletter to look, you can also easily modify any aspect of their templates.
- To design an email newsletter:
- 1. Go to My eBay.
- 2. Move your cursor over the Account tab until the "Marketing Tools" pull-down menu appears.
- 3. Click the “Email Marketing” link.
- 4. Click the Create Email button.
- 5. Select the email template and the general layout. If you prefer to create your own newsletter, select Custom.
- 6. Customize your email by changing the standard content and options as needed.
- Now that you have your newsletter designed and ready to go, select the most appropriate mailing list and hit send!
